The program works on relocating our clients to safe transitional homes away from their abusers.

We provide them with holistic services that will help and guide them to rebuild their lives independently. Our goal is to permanently find a safe solution for our victims through our resources, advocacy, safety planning and outreach. The targeted population are women from greater Asia who reside in Houston, Texas. (e.g., India, Iraq, Pakistan, China, Vietnam, Lebanon, etc.) AADA receives up to 50 pleas of help per month through calls and referrals. Our goal will be to serve 60% of the pleas that qualify for our program.

An intake will be given to the client to assess what kind of services will be needed. Our program is a six month period. AADA will move the client to a safe transitional house for 12 weeks where rent and utilities will be covered. During this time AADA will foster economic independence, integration into society through the development of English language skills, financial competence, computer literacy, and career skills that contribute to personal and professional growths. After the first three months AADA will continue to follow up with client to see their progress and if they need any further assistance. Our long-term impact will be seeing our client empowered and living independently without fear.

Our advocates work closely with our client and their children to address their short-term and long-term needs and goals. They are supported through intensive individual case management, counseling sessions, medical/mental health/immigration appointments; facilitating safe havens by transitioning them into safe housing.
